The app scans local Codex session files from a folder you choose, then turns your usage history into readable statistics. You can review questions, token usage, categories, efficiency scores, recommendations, and AI review notes in one place.
CodexStats is designed for local-first analysis. Basic usage analysis runs on your Mac and does not require an account.
Main features:
• Local Codex session scanning
Choose your Codex folder and scan local .jsonl session files. CodexStats uses read-only access and does not modify your Codex cache.
• Question-level usage metrics
Review each question with estimated or recorded token usage, category, efficiency score, and improvement recommendations.
• Prompt quality recommendations
See practical suggestions for writing clearer questions, reducing unnecessary token usage, and splitting large requests into better-scoped tasks.
• Thread-style review
Browse Codex sessions as threads and review the question-and-answer flow in a more natural structure.
• Optional Ollama AI review
If you run Ollama, CodexStats can send selected questions to your configured Ollama server for local AI-based prompt quality review. If Ollama is not available, the app continues to use the built-in rule-based review engine.
• Optional team dashboard upload
You can upload selected report data to a team dashboard server URL that you configure. This is optional and intended for teams that want to review Codex usage patterns together.
• Multilingual interface
The app supports English, Korean, Japanese, and Chinese interface text.
Privacy-focused design:
CodexStats reads local Codex session files only after you choose the folder. The app does not modify Codex cache files. Basic analysis is processed on your Mac. Optional features such as team report upload and Ollama review run only when you configure them and start them manually.
CodexStats is useful for developers, technical leads, and teams who want to understand AI-assisted development habits, review prompt quality, and make Codex usage more efficient.
