Description
DevPreview replaces macOS's plain-text Quick Look previews with crisp, correct rendering for the files developers actually work with:
• Markdown (GitHub-flavored: tables, task lists, code blocks with syntax highlighting)
• reStructuredText (.rst) — every Python and Odoo/OCA README as a real document
• HTML pages in the app's preview window — including Odoo listing pages, which ship without styling of their own
• YAML, TOML, JSON — highlighted, structure intact
• Source code in 35+ languages (Python, Swift, Rust, Go, TypeScript, Java, C/C++, SQL…)
• Dockerfiles, Makefiles, docker-compose
• CSV/TSV as real tables — including semicolon-separated exports
• ZIP, JAR and tar archives (gzip, bzip2, xz) as a table of contents — no password prompts, encrypted entries just carry a lock
• Logs with colored levels, .env/.ini/.conf files
FAST
Even huge lockfiles and log files appear without a spinner. Long files are truncated with a visible note instead of freezing the preview.
PRIVATE BY DESIGN
The preview extension has zero network access. Nothing is uploaded, nothing is analysed, no account required. Your files never leave your Mac. Images a document points at — README badges, banners, screenshots — are loaded by macOS's preview just as a browser would; the files themselves stay put.
YOURS TO ADJUST
Light, dark or automatic appearance. Adjustable font size. Every file format can be switched on or off individually — disabled formats simply fall back to the standard macOS preview. The companion app shows all settings with an instant live preview on sample files.

- Choose the interface language directly in the app. System language remains the default; all eight bundled languages can be selected without changing macOS settings.
