Kuvaus
Every line is annotated, not merely decoded. Alongside the disassembly you get a plain-English account of each instruction's effect, the registers it reads and writes, and what it costs to execute. Select a line and the instructions feeding it are marked, with the dependency depth measured from your selection.
WHAT IT SHOWS YOU
• Per-instruction effects in concrete terms — which register receives what, which bits move, which memory is touched
• Latency, throughput and execution-port pressure from measured tables for Apple M-series cores (Firestorm and Icestorm) and for x86
• Dependency depth and issue cycle relative to any line you select, with a configurable decode width
• The register carrying each dependency emboldened on both sides of the edge — the producer's destination, the consumer's source
• Branch targets resolved to symbol names; double-click to follow, and go back the way you came
• Every branch that jumps to a given line, so a function's callers and a loop's back edges are one click away
• Resolved jump tables, and data references shown with their effective address
• Data sections rendered beside the code: strings, pointers and hex

FINDING YOUR WAY
• A functions list you can filter, exclude from, and sort by address, size or name — comfortable on binaries with hundreds of thousands of functions
• Find across the whole program: instruction text, symbol names, addresses, and immediates written in either hex or decimal
• Scroll position, selection and filters remembered per file
BUILT FOR LARGE BINARIES
A 188 MB executable containing 25 million instructions opens in seconds and scrolls at full frame rate. Rows are decoded as they come into view rather than rendered up front into one enormous block of text, so memory stays modest however large the binary.
DisAsm reads a copy-on-write snapshot of the file, so rebuilding the binary underneath doesn't disturb the session you are reading.
PRIVATE BY DESIGN
DisAsm is sandboxed, works entirely offline and collects nothing. Nothing about the binaries you open ever leaves your Mac.

- - x86 timing coverage. Cycle counts for the BMI1, BMI2 and ADX register forms, for FMA3, for the AVX shapes that had gaps, for crc32, movabs, the cvt family and the remaining V-prefixed mirrors, and for a grab-bag of other instructions.
- Fixes. The timing of V-prefixed loads was wrong and is corrected. Three bugs in the dataflow and instruction classification found in review are fixed. addpt and subpt decode their shift into the register operand rather than a bare trailing immediate.
- Effects. BMI1, BMI2 and ADX instructions have effect descriptions.
- Intel build. The x86_64 slice is compiled for Haswell rather than Nehalem, so it needs a Mac from 2013 or later; every Mac that runs macOS 14 qualifies.
