3D TOOLPATH PREVIEW
Orbit, pan, and zoom with ViewCube navigation. Filter rapid, feed, and arc moves. Inspect program, workpiece, and machine coordinates, travel limits, stock bounds, and cutter-compensation previews. Click a move to find its source line, or select a line to highlight its path.
APPROXIMATE STOCK SIMULATION
Fit stock to the toolpath or enter dimensions. Review material removal with cutter-shape-aware simulation, cut-depth heatmaps, and textured stock surfaces. Import an STL model of your starting workpiece to preview toolpaths against a custom shape, such as an acoustic guitar neck or a contoured blank. See how the planned cuts relate to the shape you are working on. Optional rotary-axis features and cylindrical stock are available in beta.
DIAGNOSTICS AND EDITING
Inspect parser, program-flow, motion, arc, travel, tool, and stock diagnostics grouped by severity and occurrence. Jump to the affected line, read an explanation, and apply supported Quick Fixes. Use CNC-aware syntax highlighting, find and replace, autocomplete, and an offline G-code reference.
MACHINE PROFILES AND TOOL LIBRARIES
Choose starter profiles for Mach3/Mach4, LinuxCNC, Fanuc, grblHAL, and generic mill/router workflows. Configure units, travel limits, rapid rates, controller behavior, and tool definitions. Keep cutter libraries independent of machine profiles.
PROGRAM REVIEW AND REPLAY
Step through a program or replay the toolpath using estimated feed time. Inspect modal state, work offsets, supported canned cycles, subprograms, and review summaries. Export analysis reports to keep a record of your review, or save preview images to share your setup and discuss a project.
LOCAL FILES, NO ACCOUNT
Your G-code, profiles, tool tables, stock settings, and recovery drafts stay on your Mac. No account, subscription, advertising, or in-app analytics.
GCodeEdit edits and previews programs only. It does not connect to or operate CNC hardware. Interpretation depends on the selected profile and supported commands; it is not a substitute for your controller's documentation. Stock simulation is an approximate backplot aid, not certified machining verification. It does not verify collisions against holders, fixtures, or machine structure. Independently verify the program, tooling, stock, machine limits, and safe operating procedures before machining.
