Browse a visual commit graph, inspect commits, review file diffs, stage hunks, write commits, manage branches and remotes, preview pulls and pushes, and resolve merge conflicts in a dedicated visual workspace.
GitVisual's safety model is preview-first. Pull, push, merge, reset, rebase, squash, cherry-pick, revert, amend, and reword workflows surface branch movement, affected commits, file impact, remote risk, warnings, and required confirmations before refs are written. Recovery checkpoints help you move back to a previous head after supported history operations or manual backups.

- Use HTTPS tokens, SSH keys, SSH agent, ask-every-time, or no-credential mode, with optional Keychain storage for reusable secrets.
- Resolve conflicts in an app-managed Merge dashboard with Current, Incoming, and Resolved Result panes, Use Mine, Use Theirs, Combine, Auto Combine, manual editing, validation, cancellation, and completion.
- Edit history through History Tools: interactive rebase, edit pauses, squash, cherry-pick, revert, soft/mixed/hard reset, amend, reword, local tag creation, backup, and Recovery Center.
- Move quickly with Command Palette, toolbar actions for Undo, Redo, Pull, Push, Branch, Stash, Pop, Terminal, Settings, and built-in workflow documentation.
GitVisual works directly with real Git repositories. It is not a cloud dashboard and does not require a GitVisual account. Local repository workflows can run offline; network access is only needed for clone, fetch, pull, push, and other remote operations you initiate. Higher-risk actions are designed to be explicit, inspectable, and recoverable so you can keep momentum without losing sight of what Git is about to do.
