Usage Battery for Cluade Code
Claude Usage Battery is a macOS menu bar app that tracks your Anthropic Claude Code usage limits in real time. It securely reads credentials from the macOS Keychain and displays usage percentages with dynamic battery icons. The app auto-refreshes to help developers stay within quotas.

• Key Features
The app monitors three periods: current session (5-hour window), weekly limit (7 days), and Sonnet model usage when available. Color-coded progress bars turn green, orange, or red based on consumption levels, with reset timers shown.

• Setup and Authentication
Run `claude` in Terminal to store credentials in Keychain: the app uses them securely without re-entry. First launch explains Keychain access; data goes only to Anthropic's API.

Interface
Click the battery icon in the menu bar for a popover with stats, bars, and last-update timestamp. Icons change from full to empty based on max usage; gear opens quick actions.

Why Keychain Access is Safe and Secure
Claude Usage Battery requires access to your macOS Keychain to securely read Claude Code authentication credentials stored there by the 'claude' CLI. The app only reads existing OAuth tokens from the specific “Claude Code-credentials” item using Apple’s Security framework with precise filters. These tokens are sent exclusively to Anthropic’s official API (api.anthropic.com) for usage limit checks and never stored elsewhere, modified, or shared with third parties.

No passwords, personal data, or other Keychain items are accessed. First launch explains this transparently; you can revoke access anytime via System Settings or by deleting the Keychain item. The app handles all errors securely without exposing sensitive information.
