Import StarDict folders and archives with the file panel, or drop them on the window. Each one is copied into the app, indexed, and kept with a note of where it came from.
Or start from the catalog
A list of public dictionaries whose licences allow them to travel — Korean, Japanese, Chinese, English and more. Lexwright downloads, unpacks and indexes them for you. Nothing is bundled inside the app, so you install only what you want.
One search, four ways
The word as you typed it. Its reading, where the script has one. Its base forms — 먹었다 finds 먹다, running finds run. And when a word is in no headword at all, the words inside the definitions. The first kind that finds something answers, across every dictionary at once.
Articles as they were written
Plain text, XDXF and Pango markup all become clean HTML, with scripts and remote resources dropped — an article is text, and a dictionary is a file you downloaded. Cross-references are links you can follow.
Your library, your order
Several dictionaries at once, in the order you set, each one switchable. An info panel names each dictionary's publisher, licence, source and required wording, and can export it again as a zip with its licence inside.
Wherever you read
Look Up in Lexwright sits in any app's Services menu. Other apps can hand a word over with lexwright://lookup. Answers arrive in a small panel beside the text, or in the main window — whichever you prefer.
Interface in Korean, English, Japanese and traditional Chinese.
Runs entirely on your Mac. Dictionary downloads are the only network use, and only when you ask for one.
