Folder Rack
FOLDER RACK – Bossing your Files and Folders
The Finder was always my most-used tool – apart from the development environment Xcode, which is of course indispensable for me. However, there were many functions that I missed in my day-to-day work or that I would have done differently. That’s how the idea for Folder Rack came about, and now finally the app. Here are a few tips for your personal journey of discovery:

PRINCIPLE
– 1 panel per folder, any number of panels
– All panels are always visible

OVERVIEW
– Any number of folders at a glance – in 1 window
– Hide folders and currently unnecessary files

FAST
– Many toolbar buttons and shortcuts
– Focus on optimal keyboard support

SMART
– Click/double-click, Return can vary for folders / files
– More options with Shift / Control / Option / Command

FIND
– Wildcard search in the panel and via Spotlight
– Sortable columns with prefix quick search

FIND AGAIN
– Bookmarks for important files and folders
– Enter tags directly in the cell

MEMORY
– Starts with panels from the last session
– Save / load configurations with names

FLEXIBLE
– Table, tree and preview
– Text files can be edited in the panel

SPECIAL
– Change font size at the touch of a button
– Window always in the foreground if desired

TIME-SAVING
– No unnecessary view changes
– Smart columns for images, PDF, media, position, tags

EXPERIMENTAL
– Any number of clipboards
– System-independent dark mode

COMFORTABLE
– Preview with selectable panel link
– Drag & drop into a new folder if desired

CUSTOMIZABLE
– Actions for return, mouse click, double click as you like
– Your own shortcuts, your own context menu
