คำอธิบาย
Take on the challenge of traffic management with the comprehensive simulation and management systems of Junxions, where you’ll finally be able to solve the problem of gridlock once and for all. Devise interchanges unlike anything the world has ever seen, leveraging and working around the constraints of real traffic laws and systems to meet the demands of metropolitan municipalities. Build utopias of smoothly flowing roundabouts and bypasses, or employ the classic method of simply adding more lanes – the choice is yours!
From single lane one-ways to six-lane monstrosities to dedicated bus lanes, bike lanes, and tram tracks, Junxions will present a multitude of options – it's up to you to decide how they come together. Plan routes around existing structures, relying on tunnels and bridges as necessary, plotting paths from where people are coming to wherever it is they need to go. Establish rules for intersections, determining not just the phases of individual traffic lights (if any are present in the first place), but also designating lanes for specific purposes as you see fit and introducing limitations as needed. Establish rights of way, create pedestrian islands and medians, and even place street lamps, railings, noise-cancelling barriers, and additional decorative elements to bring your spaces to life. A unique set of tools are at your disposal, purpose-built to allow for the fine-tuning of every aspect of your roads and the intersections between them.
The game's challenge mode takes you from handcrafted map to handcrafted map with different pre-existing conditions, roads, and traffic problems to solve. Plot out your roads to maintain a consistent flow of traffic, prevent gridlock, and ensure average speeds are kept above a certain minimum, all while maintaining a reasonable budget. As the challenges go on, you'll take on the difficulties presented by additional vehicle types as they share the road with each other and pedestrians, introducing the need for more and more complex solutions to meet the demands of commuters. In sandbox mode, meanwhile, you can either build from the ground up to experiment on completely blank maps, or you can explore real-world challenges!
Do you live in a city with terrible gridlock? Is there a specific intersection that you just know you'd do a better job designing? Simply provide coordinates to import any real-world location from around the globe and get to solving the local traffic issues. Start with a clean slate to establish new roads, introducing new dedicated lanes, or simplifying needlessly complicated intersections. Recreate existing roads as they are to then see how incremental adjustments can improve or degrade the flow of traffic in unexpected ways. Reinvent iconic junctions to see how they change the face of familiar cities – how does the Arc de Triomphe look without its famous roundabout? Can Shibuya function as a turbo roundabout with pedestrian bridges instead? Can LA traffic actually be fixed?
Age-old problems often call for creative new solutions! With access to individual pathing tools for roads, tracks, pedestrian walkways, and bus lanes, you can choose to refine the familiar, or experiment with a multitude of non-conventional approaches to find revolutionary new solutions instead – who says pedestrian walkways don’t belong between two sets of train tracks? The intersection algorithm in Junxions will adapt to your intentions as you specify each intersection’s size, type, and exact placement – push the boundaries of traffic engineering as you seek the slightest increases in throughput.
Junxions will launch with full support for modding – build maps to challenge other members of the community, share your traffic solutions to see if others can further refine them, and even import custom models into the game to add real-world vehicles and props to your maps.
