- **SSH** — RSA or Ed25519 keypairs in real `openssh-key-v1` format for GitHub, GitLab, servers, and CI runners
- **GPG** — signing keys for verified git commits/tags, release tarballs, and Debian/RPM packages
- **Code signing** — self-signed certs for Windows Authenticode, AppX/MSIX, and Java jar signing
- **TLS/SSL** — self-signed certs for local dev and internal services, or CSR generation to send to a real CA like Let's Encrypt
- **JWT** — RS256/ES256 signing keypairs for service-to-service auth, compatible with jsonwebtoken, PyJWT, and jose
Each mode includes copy-paste setup instructions for the exact commands and file placements you need on Windows, macOS, and Linux.
**Built for developers who want to move fast without waiting on a CA or IT department.** Self-signed certs are exactly right for local dev, internal tooling, and CI pipeline plumbing — DevCerts is upfront that they won't be trusted by default for public traffic, and points you to the right next step (a real CA or store re-signing) when you need that.
Runs entirely offline in your browser using node-forge and OpenPGP.js. Reload the page and everything is gone — no accounts, no server-side storage, no telemetry.
