Fastedit is a lightweight, tabbed text editor built for performance.

Unlike many other editors that rely on standard Windows components, Fastedit is powered by a custom-written text engine (TextControlBox). This allows for a smoother, faster experience that is specifically tuned for handling code and large text files, all while keeping the modern look and feel of Windows 11.

Fastedit is designed to fill the gap between basic notepads and heavy development environments. It launches instantly but gives you the tools you need for serious work.

The editor supports syntax highlighting for common languages (C#, C++, Python, JSON, and more), along with line numbering and auto-indentation. The custom text engine ensures that scrolling and typing remain clean, even when working with complex files.
