Description

Gridge
New  Gridge is a database client where each connection carries its own strength.

When the development and production clients look identical, you notice the wrong tab only after you have run the statement. Gridge keeps the danger level in the connection itself, and the window edge and badge show which one you are on at all times.

PER-CONNECTION STRENGTH
- Unrestricted (development) — nothing is stopped
- Confirm before writing (staging) — the statement itself and an estimate of the rows affected are shown before it runs
- Read only (production) — the connection to the database is opened read-only, so a write cannot get through even if the classifier misses it

KNOW HOW MANY ROWS BEFORE YOU RUN
The confirmation carries an estimate of the rows affected. It never runs "select count(*)" to get it: on a large production table that count takes minutes on its own, which would turn the safety check into the incident. Gridge reads only the estimate the database already holds, and says "unknown" rather than 0 when there is none.

WHAT IS HERE FOR EVERYDAY WORK
- SQLite, PostgreSQL and MySQL in the same grid, with values shown as stored — big integers are not rounded, dates are not converted, same-named columns are not collapsed
- Connections through an SSH tunnel, with host keys always verified and no way to continue past a key that does not match the one on record
- Transaction control, including when you type BEGIN in the editor yourself
- Static checks and formatting before you run
- Tabs for SQL and ER diagrams side by side
- A cell viewer for long text, JSON and binary
- CSV and TSV export

PAID FEATURES
Viewing and querying one database safely is free. Query plans, ER diagrams, related-record jumps, schema diffs, the statistics view, the monitor pane, the audit log, exports beyond CSV, and saved queries are the paid features.
They cost 300 JPY per month or 3,000 JPY per year, and are purchased from the developer's own site (Stripe), opened in your browser from the Licence screen inside the app. This is not a Store purchase.
Every safety feature — the row estimate, transaction control and read-only connections — stays free.

YOUR DATA
Nothing is sent anywhere. Connection settings and the licence record are stored in the per-user application data folder that Windows provides, with passwords and SQL text encrypted by the Windows credential store (DPAPI).
