Description

Metadata Forge is a local-first Windows workstation for inspecting, rewriting, normalizing, scrubbing, and batch-transforming metadata across images, audio, video containers, documents, ebooks, and filesystem properties. Work with individual files or large folders, preview proposed changes, apply reusable recipes, and export verified transformed copies while preserving source files by default.

Edit and map common fields such as title, author, artist, album, copyright, comments, keywords, dates, device information, GPS, publisher, company, and custom properties. Metadata Forge keeps format-specific standards distinct while providing a canonical field layer for practical cross-format workflows.

Privacy-focused tools can remove selected categories such as GPS/location, creator identity, device information, software/producer fields, comments, timestamps, document identity, custom properties, and editing-history metadata. Every scrub operation is explicit and previewable, with unsupported or unknown metadata reported instead of silently discarded.

Build repeatable transformation recipes for field copying, moving, mapping, normalization, filename- or folder-derived values, reference-file metadata transfer, keyword cleanup, date normalization, GPS removal, and other batch operations. Format-aware rewriting is designed to preserve primary image, audio, video, document, and archive content wherever metadata-only modification permits.

Metadata Forge is designed for privacy cleanup, publishing, archival normalization, asset preparation, media organization, document cleanup, and large-scale metadata consistency. Core functionality is local and requires no cloud service, online account, analytics, telemetry, or network access.
