Description

New Package Forge is a local-first Windows package transformation workstation for inspecting, restructuring, validating, comparing, and rebuilding application and distribution packages without modifying the original source.

Open supported package formats including ZIP-based packages, MSIX, APPX, NuGet packages, VSIX extensions, and ordinary directory trees. Inspect package contents, manifests, metadata, compression details, paths, sizes, hashes, and validation findings in one structured workspace.

Build transformation plans to add, replace, remove, rename, move, flatten, or reorganize package entries. Edit supported manifest metadata, normalize paths and timestamps, change compression behavior, create deterministic package outputs, compare original and transformed packages, and verify package integrity with SHA-256 hashing.

Package Forge includes format-aware workflows for MSIX and APPX manifests, NuGet `.nuspec` metadata, and VSIX manifests. It can regenerate required MSIX/APPX package metadata during repacking, preserve unknown manifest content where possible, detect stale signatures after modification, and export transformed packages as unsigned artifacts ready for later signing when required.

Batch workflows, reusable presets, transactional export, post-export reopening and verification, source immutability checks, traversal protection, malformed-package detection, and bounded processing are built in. All package processing occurs locally on the device with no account, cloud processing, analytics, advertising, or telemetry transmission.
