Описание
platypusgit is a dev-first git desktop app: a fast, keyboard-driven
alternative to TortoiseGit for people who already know git and want a GUI
that keeps up. Free and open source, with no account to create, no paid
tier, and no telemetry of any kind.
WHAT IT DOES
Stage and unstage whole files or individual hunks, then commit with amend,
author override, sign-off, and your repository's own commit template.
Read changes in continuous whole-file diffs with a scrubable minimap,
side-by-side or inline, with word-level highlighting, search inside the
diff, and image previews instead of a "binary file" dead end.
Work with history the way git does: commit graph, file history, blame that
honours .git-blame-ignore-revs, git notes, the reflog, detached-HEAD
checkout. Reshape it with interactive rebase — pick, reword, edit, squash,
fixup, drop — plus cherry-pick, revert, and the three flavours of reset.
Resolve conflicts in a three-pane view with accept-ours and accept-theirs,
or hand the file to your own merge tool. Open any diff in your own diff
tool too.
Push, pull, fetch and force-push-with-lease with real progress and a cancel
button. Fast-forward a branch to its upstream without checking it out.
Clone shallow, blobless or single-branch, and get told what that left
behind. Generate an SSH key from the dialog that told you authentication
failed.
List, review, check out and create GitHub and GitLab pull requests,
including self-hosted instances, without leaving the app.
Open several repositories at once in one window, each in its own tab.
Browse submodules, linked worktrees and git-LFS objects. Run a bisect.
Manage remotes, branches and tags, including signed tags.
BUILT FOR KEYBOARDS
A command palette, a remappable keymap, and a caret you can drive through a
diff with the arrow keys. Every drag has a keyboard equivalent.
A pgit command-line entry point comes with it: run "pgit ." in any
repository to open it, the way "code ." works.
PRIVACY
No telemetry, no analytics, no account, no crash reporting. Your
repositories, diffs and commit messages never leave your machine. The only
requests the app makes are an update check you can switch off, and the
GitHub or GitLab API if you choose to add a token. That is enforced by the
test suite rather than just promised — see platypusgit.com/privacy.
