Beskrivelse

Pumpkin Toolbox is a personal workbench for embedded, IoT and network engineers. Instead of switching between a serial terminal, a TCP tool, a Modbus poller, an MQTT client, a BLE scanner and a hex calculator, you get all of them in one fast, dark-themed Windows app — and they work together.

SERIAL TERMINAL
• Auto-detects COM ports (USB adapters, Bluetooth serial) and notices when a device is unplugged
• Any baud rate, data bits, parity, stop bits, RTS/CTS and XON/XOFF flow control, DTR/RTS control
• ASCII and HEX views side by side, timestamps, \r
\xHH escapes, line endings
• Command history, auto-send with interval and count, export to file

NETWORK TOOLS
• TCP client and TCP server (many clients, send to one or all, echo mode)
• UDP sender and listener with broadcast, multicast and "reply to last sender"
• WebSocket client (ws:// and wss://, text and binary messages)
• HTTP tester with headers, body, pretty-printed JSON and "copy as curl"
• Ping with loss, jitter and a live graph; DNS lookup of all common record types, against Windows or any DNS server
• Open connections with the owning process (like netstat -ano) and network adapter details

PROTOCOLS
• Modbus master: RTU over serial, Modbus TCP and RTU over TCP (gateways); functions 01–06, 15 and 16
• Values as 16/32/64-bit integers, floats, HEX, binary or ASCII with selectable word order (ABCD, CDAB…), polling, and a frame log that explains exception codes, timeouts and CRC errors
• MQTT client (3.1.1): QoS 0/1/2, retained messages, TLS, user name and password, topic explorer with the latest value of every topic

BLUETOOTH LOW ENERGY
• Scanner with signal strength history, filters and a rough distance estimate
• Decodes advertisements: names, service UUIDs, manufacturer data, iBeacon and Eddystone
• Connect, browse GATT services and characteristics with their standard names, read, write and subscribe to notifications
• Decodes common values (battery, temperature, humidity, heart rate, device information) and explains ATT errors

DATA TOOLS AND PACKET ANALYZER
• Convert between HEX, ASCII, binary, decimal and Base64; integers and floats ↔ bytes in any byte order; timestamps
• 22 CRC and checksum algorithms, plus "find the checksum" for an unknown frame
• Packet builder and analyzer: describe your protocol once (header, length, payload, checksum), build frames with automatic length and CRC, send them to a serial port, TCP, UDP or WebSocket device and analyze the reply

BUILT-IN TERMINAL
• PowerShell, Command Prompt, Git Bash and WSL in tabs, inside the app; tabs are remembered between sessions

AI ASSISTANT (optional)
• Ask about a log, decode an unknown packet, translate English ↔ Bulgarian, write e-mails or turn notes into a Jira ticket
• Works with Claude (Anthropic), OpenAI or a local model (Ollama, LM Studio). AI features need your own API key or a local model; the key is stored encrypted for your Windows account

EVERYTHING CONNECTED
Select lines in any terminal and send them to Data Tools, the Packet Analyzer or the AI assistant with a right-click. Every channel is logged to files you can filter and export, and a dashboard shows what is connected and how much data has moved.

Connections stay open while you use other pages. No account, no telemetry: Pumpkin Toolbox only talks to the devices and servers you connect to, and to the AI provider you choose.
