Description
Import one or more folders and SearchFiles builds a local index from file metadata, including file name, path, relative path, size, creation date, modification date, and extension. Search matches file names and paths, while the app keeps file access local and explicit with macOS sandboxing and security-scoped bookmarks.
Version 1.1 adds a much richer search workflow. Use Advanced Search to combine keywords, a specific imported folder, extensions, file size, creation date, and modification date. You can also exclude one or more subfolders, such as drafts, caches, build outputs, or temporary folders, without changing the index itself.
Saved searches keep frequent queries close at hand in the sidebar. Settings now include app language, appearance theme, results per page, saved search cleanup, and a local database cache overview for each imported folder.
SearchFiles indexes metadata only. It does not read or index file contents, making it a focused tool for quickly locating files while keeping your local workflow private.
