Visera Notch
Ny  Your MacBook's notch has done nothing for years. Drag a file onto it: the slot swallows it and the bottom edge lights up for a second. It sits there until you need it.

That's Visera. No window, no Dock icon, no account to create. Hover and the island opens; move away and it goes back to being a black hole.

THE LINE OF LIGHT

The bottom edge of the notch — the exact seam where the aluminum ends and the pixels begin — lights up when something matters: a file lands, a song starts, your headphones connect. When they do, their name crosses that line top to bottom, like the hardware just handed it to you. Every other notch app animates inside the island. This one animates the seam, which is the part that's actually your Mac.

AN ORDINARY TUESDAY

9:02 — The island already has your 9:15 meeting, Join button included. Zoom, Meet, Teams, Webex — doesn't matter.
11:40 — You type "report tomorrow 10am" and it lands in Reminders with the date set. There's no date field because there doesn't need to be.
1:00 — "340*1.19". The answer prints on a paper adding-machine tape, stamped slightly crooked, perforated edge and all. It's a calculator and it's a joke, and both land.
4:20 — You kick off a render. Visera watches the folder, counts what comes out and tells you when it's done, while you're somewhere else.
6:30 — You put your AirPods in and the EQ curve you saved for them comes back on its own.

YOUR SOUND REMEMBERS EACH SET OF HEADPHONES

A 10-band EQ with preamp driving Apple Music's equalizer, with a separate curve saved per audio output. The curve you love on AirPods used to wreck your speakers, which is why you never touched it. Now there's no penalty for tuning. (Controls Apple Music's equalizer; it does not affect Spotify.)

THE INTELLIGENCE RUNS INSIDE YOUR MAC

It translates as you type, with no send button. It summarizes whatever you just copied. It looks at a slice of your screen and tells you what's there. It lifts text out of any image. All of it happens on your Mac, including on a plane with no Wi-Fi. The one feature that reaches a third-party server is synced song lyrics — it ships off, and if you never switch it on, Visera never opens a connection.

IT KNOWS WHEN TO SHUT UP

When you open a video-call app, it hides your clipboard, notes, calendar and contacts. When you're in Figma, in Premiere or on a call, it won't drop over your work. An app that lives on top of everything else has exactly one baseline duty: stay out of the way.

TWO-FINGER GESTURES

Swipe sideways on the notch to change songs; up or down to move the volume. With the panel open, the same swipe jumps between modules. A deep click (Force Touch) fires your quick action. Trackpad and Magic Mouse. And with air gestures on, the island opens with your hand in front of the camera.

Shelf with AirDrop and pinned folders · Music with big artwork, 7 waveforms and a background tinted by the album (Apple Music and Spotify) · Calendar · Tasks · Clipboard held in memory only · Quick notes · Color picker with harmonic palettes and WCAG contrast · Contacts via WhatsApp, FaceTime or a call · Calc and unit conversion · Translate · Sound · Focus · Render · Script, for talking to camera without dropping your eyes · Tools: annotated capture, text from your screen (OCR) and a keyboard lock so you can wipe it down.

Fifteen modules, each one switched off separately. Want two? Then you get two, and the rest doesn't exist.
