KTN Speed Meter
Новинка  KTN Speed Meter puts your current internet speed right in the status bar, next to the clock. The number stays visible while you stream, scroll, game, or download in any other app — no need to open anything to check whether the connection is actually moving.
It also keeps a day-by-day record of how much data went over mobile and Wi-Fi, so you can see where your quota went.

SPEED IN THE STATUS BAR
The live transfer rate sits beside the clock as a small, always-visible indicator. Download and upload are added into a single number by default; turn that off and you'll see download speed alone.

THE NOTIFICATION SHADE
Pull down the shade for the full breakdown: download on one side, upload on the other, with the combined rate as the title. The meter notification is silent — no sound, no vibration, and no badge on the app icon.

DAILY DATA USAGE TABLE
The home screen shows a clean table of Mobile, Wi-Fi, and Total usage for each of the last 30 days, plus:
• Today's total
• Rolling last 7 days
• Rolling last 30 days
• A pinned This Month row that stays in view while you scroll

KEEPS RUNNING WHILE YOU'RE ELSEWHERE
The meter samples the device's traffic counters once every second and keeps going in the background. Enable start-on-boot and it comes back on its own after you restart the phone.

PREFERENCES
• Meter on / off
• Combined upload + download, or download only
• Bytes per second (KB/s, like a file manager) or bits per second (Mb/s, like the number your carrier advertises)
• Show or hide the meter on the lock screen
• Start on boot
• Light and dark theme, chosen explicitly instead of following the system night setting

BUILT TO STAY OUT OF THE WAY
Three simple tabs — Home, Preferences, About. Material 3 design, light and dark. No account, no sign-in, no onboarding.

YOUR DATA STAYS ON YOUR DEVICE
KTN Speed Meter only counts bytes. It does not read the contents of your traffic, does not log which sites or apps you use, and is not a VPN, proxy, or packet inspector.

• No account and no cloud sync
• No ad SDK, no analytics SDK, no crash-reporting SDK
• Speed values are recalculated every second and never stored as history
• The daily table is read from Android's own network statistics — we keep no copy of it
• Nothing is sent to our servers, because there are none behind the meter

Your settings (meter state, units, theme, lock screen behaviour) are stored locally in the app's private storage. Clear the app data or uninstall to remove them.

PERMISSIONS AND WHY THEY'RE NEEDED
• Notifications — the meter IS a notification. Without this permission the number cannot appear in the status bar. Requested the first time you switch the meter on.
• Foreground service (special use) — keeps the per-second sampling alive while you are in other apps, without the daily time cap that would otherwise cut a permanent meter short.
• Usage access — optional, and granted from system Settings rather than a popup. It only fills in the daily Mobile / Wi-Fi history table. The live speed meter works perfectly without it.
• Receive boot completed — restores the meter after a restart, if start-on-boot is enabled.
• Network state — used to tell mobile traffic apart from Wi-Fi traffic.

None of these are used to build a profile of you.

GOOD TO KNOW
• Live speed comes from the device's traffic counters, while the usage table comes from Android's own accounting. They're different sources, so small differences between the two are normal.
• On dual-SIM phones, the mobile column reflects the default subscription's device summary.
• Network usage history belongs to Android itself, so it remains on your phone even if you uninstall the app.
