Nit Nem: literally means "Daily routine or habit".

Nitnem is a collaboration of different Banis that were designated to be read by Sikhs every day at pre-fixed times.

Morning Nitnem
The following 5 Banis are normally read by practicing Sikhs early in the morning.
• Jap Ji Sahib
• Jaap Sahib
• Tav Prasad Swaiye
• Beynti Chaopai
• Anand Sahib

Evening Nitnem
• Rehiras

The 5 Banis are usually recited in the early morning while Rehiras is read in the evening around 6pm. Kirtan Sohila is cited just before going to sleep at night.

Night time Nitnem
• Kirtan Sohila, the Bani recited just before one retires for the day; it is normally read when one is sitting in ones bed about to go to sleep at night.
