Russian Technical Dictionary
The app Russian Technical Hoepli Dictionary by Elisa Cadorin and Irina Kakushkina is aimed at professional translators, but also for university students studying Russian.

In particular, this new and completely ridesigned version is targeted to those who are faced with the professional positions and are still full of doubts and lacking experience. Easy to consult, it collects equivalents with the nominal and verbal collocations that are most used in the practice of interpretation and technical translation.

The choice of material is the result of a strong experience in the field of translation for Italian companies working with Russian-speaking countries. The focus has been on the sectors of industry, with the marginal treatment of medicine, law, finance and biology, whose vocabulary requires a specialized dictionary.

This dictionary includes a large amount of lemmas-verbs with relative examples. In this way we want to substantially facilitate the work of the translator, because an aid in the choice of the verb facilitates the translation of the whole sentence.

The app confirms the unanimously recognized characteristics of this kind of new generation reference tools published by Hoepli: quality and modernity of the contents associated with a wide selection of entries accompanied by numerous examples of use and a wide and accurate choice of locutions.

The app's interface has been redesigned to provide a simpler and more intuitive experience. You can swipe the definitions to the right to return to the search results and improve the readability by pinching the text with two fingers to zoom in and out. In addition, you can tap on any word within the definitions and look it up directly in the dictionary without having to type it into the search box. A main menu that can be activated via an icon available at the top right of the screen enables all the features of the app:

• Index search: displays in alphabetical order the headwords that match the characters typed in the search box
• Advanced search: lets you search for headwords, in the phraseology, and in full text
• Settings: allows you to choose the font size of the definitions and the language of the interface
• History: keeps a record of the searches performed
• Abbreviations: displays a table with an explanation of the abbreviations used within the definitions
• Feedback: use it to provide suggestions, and notify errors, missing entries or other comments
• Our apps: displays an updated and detailed catalog of our offer
• Privacy and Credits: view legal notices about the app
