You’re standing at a viewpoint, trying to make sense of the scenery. You recognize a mountain or a church—but what about everything else? With MapShot, you can turn your photo into a personal orientation panel that helps you and others explore the view.

Here’s how it works:

1) Take a photo of your view.

2) Mark a known landmark in the image (like a mountain, church, or tower).

3) Pin the same spot on the map.

4) Voilà! MapShot creates a viewer where every pixel of your photo corresponds to a real-world coordinate. Your own interactive orientation panel is ready.
