La eficiencia aumenta al permitir el funcionamiento de la bomba en condiciones de menor luminosidad, mediante el algoritmo MPPT (maximum power point tracking), disminuyendo su velocidad. Esto puede traducirse en un panel solar menor, o en la eliminación de la necesidad de baterías o la generación por diésel. La supresión de estos componentes supone un menor coste inicial en la instalación del sistema de bombeo.
Por otro lado, al funcionar a menor velocidad, la bomba sufre un menor desgaste, aumentado su vida operativa y disminuyendo los gastos de mantenimiento y reparaciones.
Los variadores de velocidad TDS600 tienen la ventaja añadida de funcionar con alimentación híbrida, de forma que se puede elegir entre la energía solar y una fuente de corriente alterna externa, cuando ésta exista (por la noche o con mal tiempo).
