Beskrivning
It is a single-user desktop tool for recording the intent behind the applications you build, capturing the changes you want made to them, and tracking those changes through to done — with every transition kept permanently in an append-only log.
WHAT MAKES IT DIFFERENT
Most trackers store the current state and let the history blur. App.Tracker stores the history and derives the current state from it. Nothing is ever overwritten: entries are never updated and never deleted, and a correction is a new entry rather than an edit. Months later, the reasoning behind a decision is still there, exactly as it was written.
That one design decision is what makes the rest possible — aging reports, time spent in each status, reopen rates, and a complete rebuild of your database from the log if it is ever lost.
WHAT YOU GET
Applications you are building, each with its purpose, constraints and current state. Change requests against them, each requiring a reason — the field that pays off a year later when the decision matters and the context is gone. A status lifecycle from Proposed through to Done, with Blocked, Deferred and Rejected as off-ramps, each requiring an explanation before it will save.
Tasks for planning how the work gets done: steps with a duration in working days, subtasks, and dependencies of all four kinds with a lag, between tasks and changes alike. App.Tracker works out every date on your working week and holidays, shows the critical path, and draws the plan as a Gantt chart. Record people's hours and material lines, and the planned cost is worked out and rolled up to the change and the project, beside the actual cost you record.
A board to move work across, an activity feed of everything that has happened, and reports that lead with the most useful question a tracker can answer: what has been sitting still for too long? Beside it: what can be started now, and what each piece of work is waiting on.
IT STAYS ON YOUR COMPUTER
App.Tracker has no accounts, no sign-in and no server. It makes no outbound network connections at all — there is no telemetry, no analytics, no crash reporting and no advertising. Your records live in your own user profile, in a SQLite database and a plain-text log you can open in any text editor.
Backups go where you point them, one way, and only when you ask or when the app closes. Nothing is ever read back from a backup into your live data.
If this tool disappeared tomorrow, your history would still be readable without it.
REQUIREMENTS
Windows 10 version 1809 or later, or Windows 11. No internet connection is required, or used.
