DropServer
# Drop Server

Drop Server turns your computer into a simple local file server. Pick a folder to share, start the server, and any phone, tablet, or other computer on the same network can open a web browser, type your IP address, and instantly send or receive files and folders — no app, account, or cloud needed. There is no file size limit, because every transfer is streamed directly to and from disk.

## How It Works

1. Open Drop Server and choose a root folder to share.
2. Press Start. The app shows your address (for example `http://192.168.1.10:8080`) and a QR code.
3. On another device, open a browser and enter that address, or scan the QR code.
4. Browse, download, and upload files and folders right from the browser.

- **Path-traversal protection** confines all access strictly to the shared folder

## Privacy & Safety

- Files stay on your own device and local network — nothing is uploaded to any cloud.
- The server is intended for use on trusted networks.
- Clients can only access the folder you choose; access is locked inside it.
