Bedtime Donations
A NEW CHAPTER FOR INCLUSION

Blind children often lack access to stories, and one reason is that recording audiobooks requires time and resources. Bedtime Donations is here to change that. It’s an app developed by The Royal Society for Blind Children, U.K. (RSBC) to democratize audiobooks for children in the vision-impaired community worldwide.

To donate your bedtime story to blind children, all you need to do is download Bedtime Donations, choose a tale to tell, and read it out loud. The app will record every word you say and turn it into a free audiobook.

You can donate as many stories as you wish.

Now, the bedtime story you read to your child can be
heard by thousands of blind children.

Accessibility experts helped us design the app to be
inclusive and user-friendly for everyone.

- Color Contrast
All colors meet WCAG Level AAA contrast ratio requirements, with a minimum contrast ratio of 7:1. to ensure clear visibility.

- Information Hierarchy
We organize content so the most important information stands out and is easy to follow.

- Font Selection
Our easy-to-read sans-serif font avoids all caps and tricky effects to help everyone read comfortably.

- Voice Over
The app and website are programmed to support voice recognition on both IOS and Android platforms.

- Color Contrast
All colors meet WCAG Level AAA
contrast ratio requirements, with a minimum contrast ratio of 7:1. to ensure clear visibility

- Icon Creation
We created a set of clear icons that act as an additional visual language. They require no more than one cognitive action to understand its meaning.
