Take learning to new levels at your school using digital storytelling!
Sensavis is an interactive app with high quality visualizations that enables teachers and students to explore, collaborate and create digital stories that make it easier to understand and explain what is abstract and complex. Developed by teachers, for schools that want to make learning available to more students and create learning environments where students' knowledge and collegial learning become visible and easy to share through digital tools.
Sensavis app provides more students with access to learning through high-quality interactive visualizations that help to clarify abstract processes and explain complex relationships. The app is flexible, detailed and offers the teacher and the student to add their own voice or text to explain what the amazing visualizations show. The app contains content in biology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, geography and technology. In the app's settings you currently find menu languages in English, German, Chinese & Simplified Chinese, Arabic, Finnish, Spanish, Turkish and Swedish.
Activate
When the students themselves create digital stories based on Sensavis visualizations, they develop their subject knowledge while practicing higher-order thinking skills. This is done by exploring the visualizations while collaborating, creating and learning to analyze and review information that they will use in their digital story. In this way, students can deepen, broaden and understand their own learning. The students go from passive consumers to active producers as they work with their multimodal projects. The digital stories also make it easier for teachers to uncover critical learning aspects that students need to overcome to develop further in their learning.
Create
Create and customize your own teaching material in the form of videos recorded with your own voice, for example, to flip the classroom, offer distance learning or allow students to review central concepts of a subject area at any time. Draw directly in the visualizations to explain, label and show relationships. Learning is strengthened with the help of your own voice and pedagogy. In collaboration with language teachers, visualizations are also ideal for working with students who learn a new language in combination with improving their subject knowledge. These videos can of course also be used in collegial learning and to ensure that schools, municipalities, and even countries have access to a high-quality resource bank that promotes equity in education.
Teach
Use Sensavis in the classroom to include all students in the learning process by simplifying the abstract and complex. Live interactive visualizations capture the interests of the students, reveal what the eye cannot see and increase motivation. With Sensavis you can create a common starting point from which you then explore and go deeper into the subject together. It is also gives great support to students who find it difficult to visualize abstract processes and engage in conceptual thinking.
