In any language, around ~1% of words can get you ~85% of the way to fluency. The same is true for music. Learn the basic vocabulary of modern music with NoSheet, and learn to speak music.
NoSheet teaches it ear-to-instrument first, because you don't want to just be able to read a language - you want to hear it and use it.
